Episode #4 Low-Cost Tech Infrastructure, Part 2

Yesterday, I was all excited about operating systems.  Today, I feel, is even more important if you are running your own business – the protection and accessibility of data.  If your business is data driven, you MUST have some way to backup and restore it in case of an emergency.  If you don’t, you are an idiot.  What else can I say?

Here are some of the resources that I mention:

  • Mozy – Online and automatic data backup (2GB free)
  • Carbonite – They have a free trial period, but I’d try Mozy first.
  • DropBox – 2GB free file storing and syncing (can be incresed to 3GB free by inviting people).
  • Ubuntu One - 2GB free.  Syncs a whole bunch of stuff, but you need Ubuntu.

Have any other cloud storage apps that you prefer?  Let me know in the comments!
